Fitur 2011 opens its doors

IFEMA hosts the 31st edition of the prestigious international tourism fair

Tomorrow, January 19th, FITUR 2011 will be inaugurated. In its 31st edition, the International Tourism Fair in Spain, held annually at the Institución Ferial de Madrid (IFEMA), will last five days during which the ten pavilions prepared for the event will gather professionals of the tourism industry and will hold exhibitions, conferences and meetings.

It is anticipated that this year, the fair will receive around 200,000 visitors and have the presence of 10,500 companies from 166 countries, among which are -for the first time- the Republic of Congo, Pakistan, New Zealand, Lebanon and South Africa.

The fair, that will be brought to a close on Sunday 23rd, will offer a new area called LGBT, which will be dedicated solely to tourism for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transsexuals.

Over the weekend, the IFEMA pavilions will be open to the public.
